An interview I did recently for the iSwitch podcast is now available on their web site. iSwitch is part of the Teen Podcast Network and as their name suggests they cover Mac topics for Switchers. In our conversation we discuss MacWorld, the new Mac line up, Mac hardware and software, podcasting and more. The interview was recorded using iChat and the new GarageBand 3 from iLife ’06 and runs about 45 minutes. Enjoy.
I liked the interview and all the questions were interesting. However, I could not download the MP3 file and had to stay online for 45 min. Is this because the website was designed using iWeb (which probably does not allow downloads yet)?
They’ve got to be kidding — no mp3download? Please. Adam, you need to talk with them about that.
Why didn’t you warn us?
Thanks for the note, I have a “Podcast” button which links to the MP3 file.
Rick, the podcast image to the left of the player is a link to download the mp3 file. ;)
Rick, just click on “Listen…” on the first page you go to, then click on the play button in the Quicktime plugin window.
stitzu,
thank you for your reply. Last night I did not see the podcast image next to the player. Maybe I did not pay attention. However, while I am on that page, the player starts loading the file automatically. How do I stop the player from doing that? I would just want to download the MP3 for listening later. But I do not want to activate the player at all. Maybe the podcast image (the link to download the mp3 file) should be in the previous page?
should be able to option click the image to download
I will work on this right away, sorry about the confusion. Please send me suggestions to the design to noah[at]iswitch.us I’m just uplodaed the site design on Sunday so I still ahev bugs to work out.
I think you hit on something when you talked about your iPod and how it surprised you how you used it, that you were a skeptic of the video version until you used one, and that you do watch video on it and not just through the TV because you always have it on you.
I have loved my PDAs mainly because I nearly always had them with me, so that whenever I had some time, I could pull it out and jot down some thoughts, play a short game, or read some news. I now have a Treo, which is nice since it combines the phone and PDA I used to carry, and I don’t use quite the number of Palm apps I used to back when I was experimenting with what I really would use it for.
I also have an iPod shuffle, and I love that in much the same way in that it’s small, and easy to have with me, even if it’s not integrated with my phone yet. It easily syncs my podcasts back and forth, so I can easily be listening to those when I get a chance. Even though I watch a lot of video podcasts that would be well-suited for a video iPod, I hesitate because I wonder if I might not keep it with me as much. If only someone made an adapter that allowed my shuffle to plug into my Treo’s SD card slot…or if Apple finally made that phone…
Good job on the podcast. Noah’s a kid who’s going to do well in life.
Er, make that “young man,” not “kid.” Sorry, Noah. No disrespect intended.
