OK. Obscure sci-fi movie reference aside, it appears Apple has added some new content and features to the TV Show section of iTunes. Several listeners pointed out that Apple added more Comedy Central offerings in the form of The Daily Show, with John Stewart and The Colbert Report. In addition they added a new purchase option for these shows. Multipass. Yeah Leeloo, multi-pass (sorry, it just too easy). Multipass is $9.99 (USD) and includes the most current episode, if available, and downloads the next 15 episodes. Seems very much like the paid Podcast subscriptions Audible is doing for shows like The Ricky Gervais Show. Multipass is a cool new option, but I’m not sure I will be canceling my cable or TiVo service quite yet.
“Chick-kan, GOOD!”
Great film.
Hmm . . . I wonder if this multi-pass is designed to prime us for a subscription service. According to Think Secret it’s the only way Apple is going to get the major movie studios on board.
Here’s the story:

I’m so excited for the 30th Anniversary on April 1st: more leather cases.
To complement the fun new $100 iPod nano leather cases, they’re going to bring out new fun leather cases for the remotes (used on the iMacs for Front Row). They are going to be $199.99 but only $179.99 for dot Mac subscribers.
The new fun iBooks will look identical to the current line, except they will cost an extra $400, be 2-3x faster and have about 3-4x more fun.
yeah,
subscription service to movies on iTunes would make me cancel my blockbuster online subscription. I cannot wait until April 1. Also, that’s April Fools Day, maybe there isn’t really an event. I hope they launch new iBooks and PowerMacs. Also, it would make me buy the second generation video ipod.
