A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Show 129. Apple Computer vs. Apple Corps. Round 3. iPod Update adds ability to set volume limits. New iTunes content, “Scrubs” and Season Pass buying options. Some big execs leaving Apple in March. FinalCut Studio Universal now shipping. OS X/Safari flaw results in the “image of death”. Follow-up on Motorola RAZR V3 Mac support. For Mac cellphone help check out MacNCell.com. Why can’t you watch videos with AirTunes audio? Help save the Daily Breakfast.

UPDATE: I just found out that the news of Fr. Roderick’s podcast being shut down by his Bishop was a horribly bad April Fools joke. Sorry. Please no one needs to send him any email.

I think Fr. Roderick’s “announcement” was an April Fool joke. He’s already posted an apology for the upset this has caused. I don’t think his bishop is actually asking him to stop podcasting.

To celebrate Apple’s anniversary, some guy went to an Apple store and bought 30 macs to distribute to friends and family…incredible!

One more comment…sorry to be a hog right off the top.

Personally, I think of The Beatles, Yoko et all rather cool. Apple is pretty cool too! How could these two not get along? Outrageous…

In the end I guess they have to protect themselves but as I consumer I can’t imagine where the confusion lies if only in the name? Oh well, ok sosumi again and again and again.

Haven’t listened to this episode yet (iTunes is downloading it) but MacNCell is excellent. I recommend it.

i can’t believe that hopeless Apple have not done ANYTHING for their 30th birthday!! I’ve been checking the US and Australian websites for 4 days now (seeing as we are 1 day ahead), and nothing.
I’ve been saving up my cash for 5 months!!
    :-(

    1. It’s “Safari Image of Doom”.

    2. I don’t know why you characterized it as a flaw in Safari when you later clarify and correctly identify it as an issue with a library that Safari uses. Big difference.

I think if you go back to Jobs keynote from MacWorld you will find what he said was they would have a lot of special announcements in this their 30th year. I think most people assumed that meant an April 1st announcement. Not a bad assumption, but not exactly what he said.

    Derik,
I thought I was very careful to say that THEY are calling it a flaw in Safari, didn’t I?
