Just in case you haven’t noticed, Maccast.com is feeling the pressure of some heavy activity from DIGG. This is awesome, but obviously unexpected. I have ordered some more processing power and memory, but it won’t be added until early tomorrow morning. This is just heads up to let you know that until then the site performance may be a bit spotty and you may even see the occasional error. Of course, there will also be a brief outage around 10:00 AM PST tomorrow while we upgrade the server. Sorry for the trouble.
you misspelled case in the first sentence. But at least you demonstrated that even the best sites have to be aware of Digg. Keep it up man.
“Your” should be “you’re.” That’s two posts with that faux pas this weekend alone. Doh! (For the other one, see the first sentence of “Ascent, New GPS Training App for OS X.”)
Thanks to both of you for the copy edits. It was late last night when I posted this and I was in a bit of a panic. I should have proofed it better, but clearly wasn’t in the right mind frame.
GrammarNazi,
I have no excuse on the other “You’re”. I know better, but always mess it up anyway. Time to go subscribe to Grammar Girl!
Adam, have you followed what has happened to Screencasts Online? Don McAllister had an outage because of similar problems you had with a shared server. And he hasn’t been dugg, but had problems with bulk e-mail.
The bigger podcasters seem to run against the limits of cheap server contracts. Money always seems in short supply and growing pains are rather the norm than the exception.
I hope your problems get solved soon.
