A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Episode 071. Now that new Macbook Pros have hit the streets a common question for those of us considering an upgrade is how to decide on a specific model? The differences between models range from dramatic to subtle, but I’ll share some of the tricks I use for filtering the specs and finding the model that’s the perfect fit for you.

Adam, sorry for such a late commentary, little behind with the podcasts.
Regarding your comments about not needing higher bitrates with iTunes, I for one,
have a need for higher bitrates with my audio files. Recently purchased from Crutchfield
(www.crutchfield.com) and installed in my truck, a Sony DSX-S200X digital head unit.
The new Sony head unit will playback AAC files, as well as MP3 and WMA, off either a thumb drive
or iPod/iPhone devices. It does not have a CD drive capability.
The same tunes you hear through your earbuds sounds pretty poorly, listening with a car audio
system, even with my hearing disability, I can tell the difference. It doesn’t sounds right and often has a harshness about it, whether it is old stuff like The Who or, newer stuff such as New Order. Just sounds
    better through the earbuds.
I would like to have the ability to have my music in two ways, the lower bitrates for the iPhone, and the higher, more CD like format for the truck’s audio system.
Thank you for doing the podcasts
    Wayde
