Apple held it’s big education event in New York and announced iBooks 2 which, as expected, brings textbooks to the iPad. They also announced a new free authoring tool for iBooks called “iBooks Author” and a created a new iOS app for iTunes U content. After a few days parsing the announcements and playing with the tools and new content I share some of my thoughts on what I think Apple is up to as it refocuses on it’s education business.

There are now a number of new methods that can be used to help combat this retention problem, so that you are better able to hold onto what you have learned, and use it even when you are not immersed in the culture that speaks that language.
