The Apple Bluetooth headset was shown off at the Keynote. Must have slipped your mind Adam. ^_^;

Adam, apple did show their bluetooth headset in the Apple iPhone Keynote about an hour and a half into it. I suppose it is just not officially released. This is in response to ou noting they mention it on their site under wireless and not having anything shown yet. Thanks.

The BBC petition is for British citizens only, but there are already more than 6,000 signatures, so that should help.
Well. Aren’t I a boob. I was even at the Keynote and saw it. I remember it now. It actually is kind dorky isn’t it? The Mototrola in-ear style ones are way cooler.
I believe the Number 10 petition has been set up independently, but the BBC Trust (who oversees BBC activity) have set up their own online consultation too. I would encourage all British Mac owners to fill that in as well, since there’s a section about how important you consider the iPlayer’s cross-platform compatibility. And since it’s the Trust’s own consultation, I think they’re likely to consider their own responses a lot more seriously (remember that the PM can only put pressure on the BBC, not force them into a decision).

I have a wee theory about the AppleTV delay. I don’t think it’s a marketing ploy, a supply issue, HD content or the FCC. It may be something I call “Irritable Buffer Syndrome” with regard to 802.11b/g and streaming content.

I’d agree with you about the iPhone commercial if the phone were available or just about to go on sale. For a product that is going on sale in 3 or so months, it was perfect.
As June approaches, I hope they will make more explanatory commercials to get customers to get their checkbooks ready.
This ad reminds me of the original Infiniti commercials, before the car came out.
I thought the iPhone ad was pretty cool. It’s one of those Apple unique culture things. It is interesting how it doesn’t say iPhone at all… “Hello” was originally used to show off the original Macintosh in 1984. I know others have already pointed this out, but I feel like doing it again. The Bluetooth headsets were announced by Steve himself at Macworld! :)

I’m a regular listener, and I just got an iPod shuffle. But now, it doesn’t seem, I can use the enhanced version of your podcast because when I press the skip forward button it goes to the next podcast instead of the next chapter of your podcast. Do you know if there is anyway to skip to the next chapter on the iPod shuffle?

On ways to “share” iPhoto and iTunes libraries on NAT:
You can easily share the files (songs/photos) on a network drive across multiple machines.
In iTunes, make sure that in the Preferences, the “Copy files to iTunes Music folder when copying to Library” is unchecked. Then use File>Add to Library.. and navigate to the folder on the NAT holding your files and select it.
In iPhoto, in Preferences>Advanced, turn off “Copy files to iPhoto Library folder when adding to Library”. Then use File>Import to Library… and navigate to the folder on the Nat holding your files and select it. (Note: if you edit one of these pictures in iPhoto, a new copy is created in the iPhoto Library. The one on the NAT is unchanged.)
Each machine on the network has its own library, but they can share common files on the NAT.

On ways to “share†iPhoto and iTunes libraries on NAS:
You can also Create iPhoto or iTunes libraries on a NAS drive by opening these applications with the option key held down. In this approach, you can let iTunes or iPhoto manage where to put the songs, if you wish.
Any machine with access to the NAS device can then open the library by opening the application with the option key held down and then Choosing the library on the NAS.
However, with this approach, only ONE machine at a time can have the library open.

In the podcast you mention the software limitations with with backing up to an external networked hard like those attached to the new airport extreme using super duper etc
Just to let you know that the new beta version of the excellent free program carbon copy cloner 3, now supports back up to networked drives aswell!!!!
On the Airport Extreme Base Station and attaching a Network Drive:
I bought an Airport Extreme Base Station to improve the coverage in my home – which it did.
An unexpected bonus was the ability to add USB printers and disk drives to the Base Station and make them available to anyone on the network. There is only one USB port on the Base Station, but you can attach a USB port replicator and add printers and disk drives simultaneously.
When I hooked up my spare USB drive, it did not behave well in the setup utilities. The problem was that it was formatted in NTFS. I haven’t played around with all the issues and permutations, but by reformatting the drive as a standard Mac OS Extended disk, all my issues were resolved.
It was immediately discoverable by all the computers on my home network, both Mac and PC. My PC does have MacDrive6 loaded on it, so I’m not sure if that is a critical part of process of using this device with a PC.
Though I could navigate to the network drive from my PC, I did find that loading the drive utility for the PC from the software CD (included with the Base Station) made the process even easier. The utility found the drive and mapped it as a “Z:” drive, making is immediately selectable from the My Computer icon.
This has bee – by far – the easiest way to share files among all the different computers in the house.

Regarding backup s/w, Deja Vu (propagandaprod.com) will also work with the AirDisk. I’ve used it for years on my G5. A UB version is hopefully available soon.
