Hey Mac Geeks, just a quick note to update you on when to expect the next show. A new Maccast is in the works and on the way, but I picked up a nasty flu bug near the end of the week and it took me out for a couple days. The good news is that after a couple days of getting good amounts of sleep (something rare for me), a lot of DayQuil, and drinking plenty fluids I am feeling much better. I will be up and around for the Loop in the morning and I hope to have the next episode of the Maccast on your feeds before the end of the day on Sunday.
Get well soon, Adam!
Dito. Take your time to get better. Nevertheless, I hope you will get back on your feet in no-time.
A much neglected fact of life appears to be that the odds of Mac users getting a virus are much greater than the computers they own!
In any event, Adam, good to learn that you are feeling much better.
Hope you feel better soon Adam.
Don’t rush back until you feel 100%.
Doctors Orders (;
Contrary to everyone else I want a new MacCast ASAP, Adam, so GET TO IT ALREADY!! ;)
BTW, great Loop today. I was the last caller, but we ran out of time for the tech question I had, which was how you boot from Tiger. Is it off an external disc? If so, is it firewire or USB? If I do a clone of my MacBook Pro disk (Tiger) will it boot up my MacBook (Leopard)? Or does it have to be the same machine? Do the apps have to be installed on the boot-up disk? When booting off an external disk, do you see the orignal system disk on your mac as a firewire or network drive?
Ideally, I’d like to be able to boot off an external disk and run pro-tools in Tiger, since Leopard drivers aren’t available for my hardware yet.
I would LOVE it if you could do a “how to” and “what to expect” MacCast devoted to this issue.
BTW, Just kidding about the “GET TO IT ALREADY” comment. Though you sounded pretty good today on the Loop. :D
Have a good one!
I meant a “how-to” SEGMENT on MacCast, not an entire episode devoted to booting from an external drive. A whole episode would be silly.
That is all.
