I haven’t listened to the show yet (it’s still downloading), so I don’t know what you say in the podcast, but the Queen Mother is dead, it’s the Queen that has an ipod.
Quick note: the Queen Mother is dead, it was the Queen that got the iPod (from Prince Andrew, if I remember correctly)
I agree with Adam on Jason’s question. The logic board is identical between the 1.5 and 1.67Ghz PowerBooks (they simply solder in more VRAM for the faster machine and bridge solder contacts to tell the board to run the CPU at 1.67Ghz). I use a 1.5Ghz model myself and it’s fine for all normal tasks.
Regarding Bluetooth headsets, I had problems using mine with my Mac until I installed the Apple Bluetooth Update, which is intended for, among other things, updating the external D-Link adapters that Apple sells for machines that don’t have Bluetooth built in. If you don’t have this update installed, your card will be incapable of recognizing Bluetooth headsets, period.
I’m using a Plantronics M2500, which has been working out great, although I’m disappointed at its less-than-stellar sound quality. Plantronics assumed people were going to be using it for telephony and left it at that. Does anybody have a headset to recommend with better audio quality than your average telephone?
Thanks a lot for the answers about the 1.5GHz versus 1.67GHz Powerbooks. I’m glad I asked Adam on the MacCast, because I asked the same question at the nearby Apple store and got a muddled roundabout answer. Adam made it clear.
Squozen – do you know if there’s any significant difference in battery time with the 1.5GHz vs. the 1.67GHz?

I fear that MacTel is already gaining traction and I agree with you that the label is not very “sexy.”
I blame myself. Even before it was official, I came up with a name that was very sexy. I have suggested it in a few forums, but it was not enough. Right after I heard the announcment, I should have taken two weeks off from work and bombarded many forums with the name and used it in discussions as if it were already adopted as the leading term for the Intel-based Macs.
I’m apologize to you, Adam, and the rest of the Mac community. Because of my sloth, we are going to be stuck with a boring, unsexy epithet reminiscent of the telecom bubble. If we have a similar situation in the future, I will get my priorities straight and do my best to keep our jargon interesting.
Oh, yeah, what’s my sexy name for Intel-based Macs? Think “Intel-in-Apple” and don’t be too obsessed with keeping the letters in their original order, that is, allow for poetic license. You ready?

I like Xtel somewhat, but to lose confusion would prefer “Mac running on an Intel Chip”
