A podcast about Macs done by a Mac geek for Mac geeks. Show 86. Apple taking hurricane donations through iTunes, my “Try it, you’ll like it” concept becomes reality, at least for 12 hours. Motorola is also holding a big music event September 7th, big stars to appear in Motorola ads for iTunes phone, will we see a new .Mac soon? OS 10.4.3 Update will have over 400 minor bug fixes. MacCast review of the iMojo Shuffle Sweats. Tip for silencing the volume noises, the CopCast promo, take control of your Trash with Compost. Tip on editing multiple ID3 tags at once in iTunes. The eMacCast artwork contest has ended, winners to be announced on the next podcast. The Me and my Mom podcast promo. New music, Spirit Come by Foolish Things

I think the world has been run long enough by well-meaning professionals. We might give the amateurs a chance now.

Question – on the sites where the podcast is coming from:

Is there a difference in sound quality? I’m running it thru the stand alone Quicktime player to keep track of the time incase I can’t listen to in one sitting

Why would Madonna be in an ad for an iTunes enabled phone when her music isn’t even available on the store? If this is true I hope it signifies that maddy is allowing her music to be purchased through iTunes now.

Concerning the volume key feedback sounds: if you go into the system preferences and turn them off, you can also temporarily get them back by holding the shift key when pressing them.

Regarding the 12-hour offer… I think yes, they probably did crib it from you. But I think you’re wrong as to why it was discontinued… it was probably just a pilot program. Trying it out is, after all, the only way they can ascertain whether the program is cost-effective or too expensive to maintain.

What’s with the blatant Christian music? Mark from Foolish Things is a hardcore God freak. Please let us know we’re being preached to next time.

    Otherwise, nice show.

JD. The music I play on my show is intended to give exposure to artists who may not get air play on other standard media outlets. My main goals when picking music are this:

    1) If I can get it, I prefer to feature music from a MacCast listener (Mark is a listener)

    2) Is the music good, do I like it and think my listeners will too and is it family safe (this music fit all criteria)

Beyond that I don’t discriminate. I am personally am religious, but I have absolutely no problem with people who do have strong faith. I also personally don’t like country music, but I have played it on my show too. I find it funny that many people have liked this tune and then are “offended” when they discover it is a Christian band. Good music is good music. Also I’ll remind everyone this is a Podcast, not radio, if you don’t like something you can always hit the fast forward or stop button.
