MacCast Widget Now Available

mc_widget.pngThanks to the dedicated efforts of MacCast listeners and fans Joe “The Dead Herring” Sayer and Matt Hoult, I am pleased to announce the immediate availability of the MacCast Dashboard Widget. Now you can stay up to date with the MacCast website without ever leaving the comfort of OS X. You can even search the blog right from the widget. Enjoy.

UPDATE: Listener Jason Saunders made some visual updates and added a Dashboard icon.

    For some reason the iTunes enhanced version said it was the right length but stopped playing after about 3 minutes for me.

    Firstly I would like to say that it was really all Joe; I just helped with some simple graphical tweaks to make it easier on the eyes/usability a little.

    Secondly; for those who had the 3 minute problem; you can either go back 10 seconds or so and it should play through, or delete it and re-download it as there is now a “fixed” 1.1 version which has eliminated this issue in it’s place.

    Wow, great design Jason! I know it did look a little sketchy before. Now I can be proud to have my name on such a great little widget. I put alot of time into it and now I can really see the results.

    Jason, please could you mail me how you changed the code and stuff, It would really help me if I made another!

    Perhaps I could submit it onto the apple website!

    THIS is a great widget… And whoever made it is cool.

    Too bad it’s ugly. : (

    I mean, really.

    And I wish it were updated to support a scroll wheel so I don’t have use the scroll bar

    This is still a really good widget

    one more question: why is there a menu in the back of the widget with only one choice: MacCast ?

    could this lead to a multiple RSS widget??
