You have paid off your phone and the total bill goes down.
With the other carriers, if you don’t upgrade the minute you are eligible, you are paying $20/mo for no benefit. If you wait 6 months to upgrade they don’t give you credit for those months.
This forces you to upgrade a perfectly good phone every two years. I have had people with a 4S buy a new 4S for $100 and sell their old 4S for $200.
Thanks for the Cleaning ‘Open With’ duplicates tip. Implementing this on my ’08 MBP (10.8.3) also had the benefit of immediately removing my spinning beach ball issue.

I was really bummed out when the podcast lost the reel to reel. To me it showed a lot of class, going back to what recording started with. Oh well, personal preference. Enjoy the show!
I tried to set up the 2-factor authentication today and unable to do so. Apparently this service is currently only available in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland and New Zealand. I’m a Canadian so I guess I’m out of luck for now. Not sure why this is only available in select countries and why Canada is not included… Canada usually gets access to new features at the same time or shortly after they become available in the US. Perhaps there are legal reasons for this. See the bottom of this FAQ page: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

These duplicate items in ”Open with” dialog appears every time I’ve updated an app (that app gets duplicated). Same with both my machines, on Mountain Lion. I clear it with Cocktail (or Onyx as you said) — and that fixes it every time. It says you have to make a restart, after using Coctail to ”Rebuild Launch Service Database” — as I remember in Onyx no restart is said to be needed. But maybe Onyx restarts the finder, I think that could be the case.
