Well you can’t blame them for trying and at least they have a sense of humor about it. SanDisk has launched a new anti-iPod campaign and web site at iDont.com. In a huge case of reversed roles they accuse Apple lovers of being followers, remember the “Lemmings” ads? In SanDisks “manifesto” they ask all “free thinkers” to break the shackles of the “iTatorship” and reject the sybol of opression; white earbuds. I got to hand it to them the concept is funny and cleverly done. Too bad they just don’t realize they already lost the war.

What I wonder about is ,where is the control, where is the dictatorship that the haters speak of. itunes’s fairplay DRM is the least restrictive of all the legal downloadable sources.

At least when Sun Microsystems did a similar style campaign against Dell and IBM (among others) they were funny. I personally find a lot of this to be insulting their “potential customers”. If you want me to buy your product then why are you insulting me? Insult Apple fools. No matter, you have still lost already.

What a thoroughly ridiculous website. Does someone with a name like “Eric The Sheep Herder” seriously believe that iDont.com could even poke at the iPod’s 85% market share, or is this just another pointless website from somebody who has nothing better to do with their lives other than to complain in jealousy about Apple’s success? Mac/iPod users use Apple products because they are streets ahead of the competition, because the alternatives are far from alternatives.
I stand firmly by the fact that anti-Apple propoganda is merely a pathetic attempt to criticise those who opt to pay the premium for innovation.
Come on people, what is iDont.com REALLY going to achieve? It seems to me that the only sponsor who could EVER put such a website into any sort of limelight would need to be one that had no hope of ever matching the standards of the opposition in the competitive marketplace.
Come to think of it, it’s a pitiful shame that Creative (long-time holder of the Most-Ironic-Company-Name-Of-The-Millennium-Award) is otherwise occupied. That’d be one field they might just succeed in.

    *The Importance of Spell Check*
Excuse the fact that I didn’t notice my typo until after I’d submitted my comment/rant, but “millenium” is, of course, quite obviously “millennium”. Sorry!

ido.com is already taken and not in use. @#$%^^%#@&

I have had products from sandisk that they told me apple designed and had them market and sell. They must not want any more help.

I have also had sandisk readers they needed drivers in os 9 then. they where door stops in OS X. that makes me want to buy there mp3 player. Will they write drivers for vista(when/if it comes out) or 10.5? or is it going to get throwen in to the trash with all of my other sandisk crap.

What amuses me the most is that their player looks an awful lot like a black iPod nano. Sheep indeed!

I’m not sure I like getting insulted by these guys about my iPod. Some of the stuff they say can be pretty nasty about iPod users. I don’t think i’ll buy Sandisk product unless I have to. I seems that they don’t really want it. One of their links baiscally calls you ignorant and isolated, do we trash them, NO!
