Adam,
Just wanted to give quick feedback on my battery replacement experience in the UK.
In the above podcast another UK president had a very bad experience whereas mine was just as you described in your research. I rang the tech support line, a UK number, said I wanted a replacement battery for my iPhone 6. The technician said yes straight away no online test or remote examination.
All he wanted was my serial number and as I was plugged into my Mac was easy. I gave it him and he said that a battery would be ordered then he wanted to know my post code and which store I wanted too visit.
He agreed with me that Birmingham was my nearest. He said an email would be sent to me when the battery was in the store and I could make an appointment.
Sure enough about 5 days later I has an email from the store, I rang up and I didn’t have to make an appointment all they said that it would be best if I arrived before evening time as they got busy at that time.
I went in at midday and it was returned to me 90 mins later no problems.
While I was waiting to be booked in I saw that another customer has a screen issue an unauthorised replacement I think and I thought the worst as that was I has had done some 12 months ago. It cost that customer another £89.
The same genius came to me an examined my phone thoroughly but to my amazement booked my phone in for repair without issues. Result.
Alan
