A podcast about all things Macintosh. For Mac geeks, by Mac geeks. Live from Podcast Expo 2006 in Ontario, CA. A special episode recorded in the Orange County Podcasters booth on the show floor of the Podcasting and Portable Media Expo. Victor Cajiao (Typical Mac User) and myself took the opportunity to sit down with some great podcasters who also happen to be Mac users. We spoke with Fr. Roderick (Catholic Insider), Rob Walch (Podcast 411), John Chambers (One Minute Tip) and Chris Christensen (The Amateur Traveler). We discuss how they became Mac users, what some of their early systems were, how they use Macs in life and in podcasting, plus a whole lot more. It was a lot of fun talking with these guys and I hope you have as much fun listening to this as we did recording it.

Here’s some rather harsh feedback, but don’t take it the wrong way. This was an exceptionally uninterresting show. I know you did your best trying to steer the conversation back to the mac theme but bottom line it’s really “PodcastingCast, the show for podcast geeks, by podcast geeks. This is the show where we discuss all things podcast.”
It’s not really interresting for non-podcasters what kind of setup unknown (to the listener) podcasters of other podcasts have or do not have. Neither is what system they had 20 years ago. Podcasting software isn’t very interresting to a common listener. Need I go on?
It wasn’t all bad though.The newton stuff was interresting. :)
Now like i said, don’t take this the wrong way, I really enjoy the regular MacCast so keep that up, and I’m glad you had a good time. :)

Not taken the wrong way. All I will say is that it was done at the “Podcast” Expo, so that obviously directed the conversations a certain way. Plus, this was a “special” episode, though I guess it’s not for everyone.
Well, I really liked this special edition. I’m no podcaster, but I’m very interested in the medium. So for me it was an interesting show and besides the Vista chime, it was very Mac-oriented.

I have to say, I like when everyone say what is on their mind without offending others. Great show Adam, great people here in the room too.
Comments like xerent’s always come up in places like this. To me personally, this is a Mac PODCAST, and thus podcast stuff is on topic. Xerent obviously views it as a MAC podcast, and thinks Adam should stick to Mac stuff. It’s a tough line to walk sometimes.
My feeling though is, there are a few great Mac podcasts out there. If I was going to start a podcast, it’s a pretty crowded pool to jump in with a “maccast” of my own. I’d probably do something different. So when MacCast covers a broad range of podcast topics, as a Mac user, I value the information.
While this might not have been “all Mac,” I really enjoy all of Adam’s shows, interviews, etc.
In fact, how about a special about beer?

Great episode! I know this isn’t your regular format and some people have a issue with that but I think the content was awesome. Would it be possible to get some show notes, I think someone mentioned an XML/RSS editor, can you point me towards it. Also what was that podcast that is the beginning history of Apple. Good stuff all around, just hard to make notes in rush hour traffic.

I find your comments extremely hurtful and highly offensive. The MacCast is my passion and to say I don’t care about it is pure ignorance on your part. I have consistently produced least 1 show per week for almost 2 years. 160 shows and counting and you dare say I don’t care about it? Unsubscribe.

Adam, don’t let the last comment get you down. It’s just a statment to how big and devoted your audience is and some people just like to push some buttons. I used to do this to Adam Curry quite often before he “jumped the shark”. I’m staying subscribed!
Hi, I have to say I’m enjoying this special edition (just listening to it now).
I can’t find a link to something that was discussed, can anyone give me a link, please? The guys were discussing a CC licenced book-to-audio about the history of the mac. The name of the site sounds like mac(something)radio. Any ideas?
