Apple Watch Series 5 40mm appears to have a 10% larger capacity battery in the same casing according to iFixit
Made possible by a new aluminum metal casing for the battery pack
this is despite the physical casing of the Apple Watch not getting any bigger.
The 44mm Series 5 features a slightly larger battery, but with the traditional foil pouch exterior.
Further down the road in 2020 or 2021 Kuo believes Apple will give us Mini-LED displays
Would start with high-end iPad and MacBook models
He says the displays would use approximately 10,000 LEDs that are smaller than 200 microns.
That's compared to the 576 in the upcoming Pro Display XDR
Mini-LEDs would allow even thinner and lighter product design while letting Apple maintain high quality display features like wide color gamut performance, high contrast and HDR.
He expects iPad Pros with 10-12 inch displays and MacBook Pros with 15-17-inch displays.
LG Display is expected to supply the Mini-LED display panels which would also help reduce Apple's reliance on Samsung
Apple TV+ movies may be in theaters
According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, Apple wants to release Apple TV+ films first in movie theaters with a couple-weeks of exclusivity before dropping them on their new streaming service.
Doing so would serve two purposes
Allowing the films to be eligible for awards shows like the Oscars
Could help Apple attract top directors and producers who want theatrical releases for the same reason.
According to variety anonymous sources told them that Apple already has theatrical release dates set for three films
The documentary The Elephant Queen which may be in theaters on October 18th and will launch on Apple TV+ on November 1st
Hala reportedly coming to theaters on November 22nd and The Banker with a December 6th theatrical release.
Apple will roll out AppleTV+ to over 100 countries and regions including many in Europe, but they might have trouble in 2020
A 2018 ruling by the European Parliament says video streaming services must have have 30% of their entire catalogue locally produced.
At launch Apple plans to have about 38 titles and a little less than 6.5 precent of those are produced in Europe.
There is still debate on how they are counting the quota, is it by number of titles or by number of hours of produced content.
Two quick iOS releases
iOS 13.1.1 and iOS 13.1.2 for iPhone and iPad
13.1.1 addressed and issue with battery drain and patched a security issue with 3rd party keyboard apps
Also an issue with slow Reminders sync along with other bug fixes.
Radio Stations have been slowly rolling out on Home Pod and in the Music App
Apple seemingly snuck these in over time.
Had promised around 100,000 radio stations by September 30th via Radio.com, TuneIn, and iHeartRadio
You need to use the keyword "radio station" when making Siri requests and even then some stations can be tricky to get.
In the UK be aware that the BBC pulled it's flagship stations from TuneIn in favor of their own BBC apps on Alexa.
Local BBC stations and the BBC World Service should still be accessible on HomePod and iOS
This is all under HomePod OS 12.4
We're still expecting an HomePod OS 13 release "later this Fall" that will add multi-user support, music handoff, and Ambient Sounds

Masterclass
One of my favorite things about Masterclass is the amazing depth and variety of the courses taught by the masters in their fields.
No place else do you have access to this kind of talent.
The quality and presentation of the courses is the best I've ever seen and they're each unique in their style which keeps them interesting.
Plus they are presented in small chunks, typically 10-15 minutes so I can easily fit then into my schedule
That's made even easier by the fact I can access them on any device iPhone, iPad, Mac, and best of all my Apple TV.
While you can get courses individually I really love having the all-access pass because there's so much content and being able to explore is great,
For example, I'm finishing up the Neil Gaiman course, but I noticed the Chris Hadfield Space Exploration course.
I'm not planning to be an astronaut, but I've never really understood orbits but really want to.
He has a lesson that does a great job of explaining orbital mechanics and I finally "got" it.
They have over 60 classes and they are constantly adding more, so I think it's a great investment in learning.
Now you can have unlimited access to EVERY MasterClass, and as a [program name] listener, you’ll get $30 off!
I highly recommend you check it out.
Get unlimited access to EVERY MasterClass, and as a MACCAST listener, you get 15% off the Annual All-Access Pass!
Go to MASTER CLASS dot com slash MAC. That’s MASTER CLASS dot com slash MAC for 15% off MasterClass.

Another Live Lyrics trick
Apple just call Lyrics, but I'm gonna say Live Lyrics
Another trick I forgot to mention that Ali pointed out is that why it's active you can scroll and tap nay lyrics to skip to that point in the song.
Pretty neat.
Apple TV, almost multi-user
Play feedback from Gary
Works for Music, Podcasts, and accessing Apple Arcade
Game Center, Photos, and iCloud Accounts don't change.
Movies, TV Shows, and other iTunes purchases are also not "shared"
In the TV app under "Library" you will only see the stuff purchased under that account. None of the "shared" purchases
Select Movies, TV Shows app
Select Purchased > Family Sharing, then select your family member to see their content
Luckily, unlike on iOS, at least on Apple TV when you view another family members purchases you can just press play and stream the content.
On iOS you must "download" the content and cannot stream it. UGH!!! Apple.
How this is not correct is baffling to me.
Getting app updates in iOS 13
Apple put Apple Arcade as a "main" tab in the App Store app
That means that something had to go and that something was the "Updates" tab
So now finding your app updates manually is a bit trickier
Open the App Store
Tap your profile icon in the upper right corner
Scroll down to "Available Updates"
Here you can see the apps that need updating and view the update notes.
You can tap "Update All" or tap the "Update" button for individual apps
After updating you can also come here to see the list of recently updated apps.
Like before you can also go to this section to view yours (or your families) purchased apps
Just tap "Purchased"
Another handy section her is the "Personalized Recommendations"
It displays the data that is used to make recommendations to you on the App store
Here you can access:
List of purchased apps & games
Your subscriptions
Both active and expired
Pre-orders
Ratings & Reviews
You can swipe to remove a rating or review.
Doesn't seem to be any way to edit one though.
You can turn off Personalized Recommendations in your Account Settings
Tap your profile icon, then your account name at the top
In the Account Settings panel toggle off "Personalized Recommendations"
Using the updated Camera app on iPhone 11's
If you have a new iPhone 11 or iPhone 11 Pro model
Holding down the shutter will enter "QuickTake" mode and start recoding a video instead of going into "burst" mode
If you swipe right after activating "QuickTake" mode you can lock in the video mode.
If you want burst you press the button and swipe left and hold.
Capture Outside the Frame
Disabled by default. You need to go to Settings > Camera > and enable Photos Capture Outside the Frame
Once on if you're taking a photo with the wide or telephoto lenses it will also capture an image with the ultra wide camera
This is then used when you edit the image and do cropping or rotation corrections to avoid the need to scale up and avoids a loss of image quality.
If you don't use the extra outside the frame image it is deleted after 30 days automatically.
Images taken with the feature on will have a little frame w/ star icon on them in the camera roll and photos app.
If you have the Auto Apply Adjustments setting also on, some photos might be automatically adjusted for crop and horizon
If this happens the little frame w/ star icon will be blue with the words "auto"
DeepFusion (Apple's updated HDR for iPhones 11) won't work if you have Capture Outside the Frame enabled.
That's because it doesn't work with the ultra-wide lens because it lacks focus pixels and optical image stabilization
Night Mode
This gets applied automatically when it's needed.
You'll see it indicated by a yellow icon in the top left-hand corner.
It will set up the shutter speed based on the conditions and display the number of seconds as well.
You can tap the icon to manually override the shutter settings.
You need to hold still when taking the shot or use a tripod for best results
It will tell you if you're moving to much
It can also detect when you have it in a tripod and allow you to capture long exposure stuff like light trails.
In hand held mode it will attempt to correct for motion blur.
iPhone 11s offer a new 16:9 aspect ratio
You have options for 0.5, 1, and 2x zoom. Tap to jump between them.
The three lenses
If you tap and swipe you can get a wheel for more zoom control.
2 to 10 x is the digital zoom
Apple displays the lens equivalents as 13MM, 26MM, and 52MM for the ultra-wide, wide, and telephoto lenses respectively.
When taking "portrait" mode photos with the Camera (not the TrueDepth Camera) on the 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max you can now do a wider angle shot
There is a 1x / 2x button to toggle between modes.
